15|09|2008: Adam Rowland & Emma Rowland, Director & Account Director, AMSRS Conference 2008, Melbourne, Australia, "The Price of Rigour: A cost-benefit analysis of methods to improve questionnaire design": Despite the wealth of academic research to support good questionnaire design, many researchers have fallen into bad habits when undertaking and when teaching this very particular craft. This paper will present the impact of various refinements to questionnaire design (as espoused by the academic literature) in terms of ease of administration, reliability and validity. It will also investigate the costs of applying these refinements and present a cost-benefit analysis.

24|10|2007: Jennifer Crawford, Director, The Australian Market and Social Research Society National Conference 2007, Sydney, Australia, "The Changing Face of Research": The event involved four workshops, followed by two days of conference. Seven invited speakers were featured, in addition to a record number of submitted papers. Jennifer Crawford gave the opening address on the first day, and chaired the initial plenary session, which involved a keynote presentation from Professor John Rossiter.

12|10|2007: Jasmine Hoye, Director, Sustainable Communities and Environment, Sustainable Packaging Alliance 14th Round Table: Consumer Labelling and Recyclability, Melbourne, Australia, "Consumers & Recycling: Social Research Insights": Jasmine’s presentation focused on recycling, addressing such questions as: Why do consumers recycle? Do they understand what to do? Are consumers willing to do more? What will it take? The presentation was based on a series of social research studies undertaken by Ipsos for organisations such as EcoRecycle Victoria, Gippsland Regional Waste Management Group and Ipsos Mori (UK), as well as internal Ipsos Australia research. The event was attended by representatives of key industry stakeholders including Coles, Woolworths, Visy, Cadbury Schweppes, Nestle Australia, Coca Cola, Simplot, Orica, as well as a host of industry groups.

06|08|2007: Bridget Bentley, Account Manager, Sustainable Communities and Environment, Keep it Real 2007 Conference - incorporating the 5th EMS in Agriculture and 5th National On Farm Food Safety & Quality Assurance conferences, Hobart, Australia, "Requirements for Broadacre Producers to Demonstrate Environmental Stewardship": The presentation summarised recent research was conducted on behalf of Meat & Livestock Australia, Grains Council of Australia, Australian Wool Innovation. The research aimed to define the minimum information requirements for broadacre producers in demonstrating environmental stewardship to a broad range of target audiences, now and into the future. This research project involved a total of 55 x 2 hour in-depth interviews across the five Mainland States of Australia with regulators of natural resources, catchment management authorities and regional NRM bodies, NGOs, industry bodies, leading thinkers and government agencies.

16|07|2007: John Sergeant, Chair, Ipsos-Eureka Social Research Institute, APMRG Annual Conference, Sydney, Australia, "The new breed: doctors, patients and regulators": Presented jointly with Elizabeth Stimson, Director Ipsos Healthcare, a paper looking at the changing pharmaceutical regulatory environment, from three different perspectives.
