Ipsos Australia Holds Workshops on topic; 'Who Is the Green Consumer ?'

30 June, 2007

Ipsos Australia held workshops in Sydney and Melbourne in June 2007 with existing and prospective clients on the topic of ‘The Green Consumer’. A roundtable information sharing forum was facilitated by Ipsos focusing on client’s own green vision and how they are reacting to the green phenomena, as well as related challenges and opportunities arising and likely future information needs.

The results of an Ipsos/I-view national on-line omnibus survey were presented to workshop participants to stimulate discussion and sharing of ideas. This survey (conducted in May 2007 and to be repeated on a regular basis) involved a representative sample of 1,065 Australian adults and covered the following …

  • How ‘green’ people see themselves and how this reflects actual behaviour
  • Environmentally friendly behaviours currently being undertaken
  • Importance of environmental considerations across different product and service
  • Brands or companies perceived to have environmentally friendly products or services
  • Likely future purchase behaviour and preparedness to pay more to help the environment
