About The Ipsos Mackay Report

"We tackle the hard questions, by not asking any questions at all..."

The Ipsos Mackay Report is Australia's longest running social trends study. For over 30 years, the country's leading organisations, both public and private, have relied on The Ipsos Mackay Report to deliver insights into the mind of consumers through our approach to investigating and interpreting social trends. Our clients tell us the key is our unique methodology.

The Ipsos Mackay Report research is based on the listening method. We do not ask questions: we simply listen to Australians in a relaxed environment (their homes, clubs and workplaces) chatting with friends, neighbours and workmates about the various topics we raise, focusing on issues of interest and concern to them. We harness the dynamics of spontaneous interactions between people who already know and trust each other. Our research borrows that trust.

All our reports are illustrated with and supported by extensive verbatim quotations from the group discussions allowing you to hear the way people express their attitudes, values and aspirations. As a result, you can gain a close understanding of the issues that Australians identify as important to them and which affect their decision-making.

Our 2011 program promises to be better than ever. We will continue to publish six qualitative studies including two Mind & Mood Reports, two issue-based reports and two Mind & Mood Portraits. Click here to view the full synopses of our 2011 reports.

Depending on the package you choose, we will provide you with at least one presentation to explore the implications of the findings in the context of your organisation. We will help you apply our knowledge of consumers, built up over a significant period of time, to address your business issues.
